We recently took time out to relax at Sun City and saw a very alluring poster for Femme Fatale deciding to give it a go we bought tickets and proceed to enjoy our day until the show.

Michael Bublè was in town and we were there to see thousands of people swoon and hear his magical voice. Bags packed we're making a weekend of it all. Sun City was the destination for the last few shows of the Michael Bublè world tour with 152 shows, we were at show 151, we weren't disappointed. We've never been to a show at the Super Bowl and we were looking forward to it.

Okay here it is the BLACKTOP Rally, firstly what is it? well it is a group of caring individuals who are raising money to help a community in Port Elizabeth. There target is R40 000 which has the power to change lives!!!

Beep beep you have a message if you’re using your smartphone, it’s a twitter message and that little bird is now present on ones phone. So it begins the online community that haven’t met but are privy to our personal world, a unique event is taking South Africa by storm in the form of a “Tweetup” where FollowSa (#FollowSa, @FollowSa) and Lifeology arrange evenings out and everybody is welcome to interact in face time with people that have been tweeting forever without meeting.

Now I don’t have a problem with nail polish, I love it in fact. Allowing me to change my nails when the mood takes me, too bad that nail polish doesn’t like me! Every one in a while you come across a gem of a company that makes you question the level of service you have received from the other, so called, service businesses. YuppieChef.co.za has to be, by far, one of the best online retailers I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. 

When good food meets good company, with the mid week break interrupting work one tends to venture to new places often heard about and always wanted to try. The day dawned and it was time to go and visit the Dealer of sugary goodness...

Indulgence Cafe on 225 Beyers Naude drive was entered into the navigation device and off we went to find all things tempting. Immediately I fell in love and not having stepped through the gate, it sparkled and had that must go there now feel yet completely welcoming. The decor was relaxed and collective with hanging hearts, plants on the wall and hand painted tables with daisies it is a place you feel right at home at and all your troubles and left at the door (in a bucket marked just for this use).

What better way to wind up a weekend then visiting a local restaurant and having a pleasant meal. Not wanting to go too far and not wanting the noise and rushed environment of a mall it was decided Calisto’s was the place to be. Instantly greeted by management by the door, its decor is inviting and what you would expect to see in Portugal with the used wine barrels, the old button tills and wrought iron work adding to the ambiance.

The evening was beautiful with the sun setting and the shades of blue and orange setting in, with a breeze in the air it was ideal to be outside. Our waitress was friendly and extremely helpful and lacked the patronizing tone at other establishments.

We often find ourselves in places far and wide experiencing new and wonderful things. This past weekend it was learning to make Sushi, thanks to Celestial Gifts for booking this wonderful experience and for getting enough people to warrant a weekend course. Ready set Sushi...

From tweeting to liking to linking to plus one’ing and pinning you need to know how these affect the marketing field. Consumers have a voice, they interact on a need to know basis and are no longer afraid to voice opinions and give suggestions, with this in mind you need me.

Being one for good causes I have found myself drawn to Marie Claire recently they have had great causes and some close to my heart. In December 2011 I took part in their Kindest Cut campaign and cut off my ‘tail’ (31cm and it weighed 90grams instant weight loss LOVE IT). March saw it the turn of the Burn foundation to benefit from the love and care of Marie Claire. Raising money and awareness for this worthy cause, with South Africa’s Celebrities posing naked for the magazine it drew attention to the cause. Personally I don’t like the sun and had the misfortune of its ‘embrace’ and subsequent burn feeling it only right the Marie Claire Tattoo went onto it. On a serious note sunburn will fade and sometimes leave permanent scars or the worst case skin cansa, the people who have suffered through fires have visible scars 24/7 and need the help and support of the community to be accepted. They have done nothing wrong and should not be out casted from society, we all have scars be it emotional or physical we all need understanding.

Getting away from the mundane tasks is refreshing and most often called for. Packing up and exploring different places, is part of the course. Working is a necessity and so should exploration and switching off of electronics. Destination secured Manzi Monate an RCI establishment on the outskirts of Pretoria a 4 sleeper unit.

After bouncing up and down on the dirt road and skinny lanes we arrived in the dark to our weekend getaway. Due to the fact I thought there was a restaurant on site (I was wrong). Dumping our bags and turning on the aircon we left for a stroll to see if we could find the elusive bar we saw a sign for. We found reception who in turn had an gentleman in it (called in for some sort of problem otherwise it would have been a ghost town) asking him where we can find food and refreshment we were told it was further up the road at a “24 hour petrol station”, strolling back to our room we had a cool breeze and chirping crickets (should of packed a torch). Grabbing the car keys we ventured back into trusting Prius and headed back down the dirt road. We stumbled onto a shopping centre and found refreshments and bought some juice to go. Back in our weekend home we settled in for the night.

Due to a recent change of fortune, the chance presented itself for me and my Girlfriend to head out on a weekend break at Manzi Monate, out East of Pretoria in a little town of Kameeldrift. The last time we went blind into a resort like this it didn't turn out as expected, so with a lot of trepidation we set off on the journey. The first order of business is to always make sure that our four legged children are ok and looked after, plus they enjoy spending time at their grand parents any, they finally get a chance to be one of the pack again.
